For this project you are asked to design (3 pages) that you would want on the website for your charity or awareness. Feel free to look at multiple awareness campaign websites and even non-charity websites for inspiration. Your goal is to make your website interesting as well as educational to your cause. So many informational websites out there are quite frankly, boring to look at. As designers, it is our job to find ways to make the boring things fun and interesting for the viewer. By now you have enough information in Photoshop to gather and edit photos, enough experience in Illustrator to design your own graphics, and now, enough basics in InDesign to set up a layout.
Specs: When opening a new document in InDesign, the CS6 version lets you choose to design a document for Print, Web, and Digital Publishing such as iPhone, iPad, Kindle, etc. It is up to you whether you want to design a layout for generic Web or to do a layout for one of the many Digital Publishings. The size and overall dimensions are already set for you when you first create the document.
If you still need help on learning something in InDesign let me know so I can help you or do another tutorial for the class (especially if it is something everyone could benefit from).
3 Pages: I ask that you design 3 page layouts. You need to have your CTA/Logo's on your website somewhere and I would suggest using some of the information you found when researching for your awareness/charity.
.One needs to be a home page (the first thing your viewer will see when they go to your site). This page should be your attention grabber!! Be creative! Have fun! Really make this page shine.
.The other two pages are up to you on what you want the content to be. Try to use as much information as you can in these layout, however, for big blocks of text (if there are any), you can use lorem ipsum.
These pages need to be informational as well as pleasing to look at (or as Kevin says "That is sexy!). :) So don't just slap some color down with text and a few buttons and expect an A. Refine Refine Refine. Use your skills and push yourself to learn new techniques or dig up old techniques you learned in illustrator and photoshop to make these pages look good.
Please please please let me know if you need help!! The sooner you let me know, the more I can help you.
I have faith in you guys!!
